**Full payment for shelters and building rentals is required at time of reservation**

City of Billings Parks and Recreation has some great shelters located throughout the city that are perfect places to host a family reunion/company picnic, party or get together!

All picnic shelters are available on a first come first serve basis unless they are reserved through a rental. Rental reservations for shelters must be paid for in advance at the Parks and Recreation Office or online from this website.  Reservations for a park season will open on the first business day of the year. Park Craft Houses are not available online. You must go to the main office and fill out a rental agreement form to reserve the craft houses, indoor buildings, and Central Park Building. Craft Houses, indoor buildings and the Central Park building require a $250.00 refundable damage deposit along with full payment in order for to reserve.

Alcohol permits are available for all shelters and parks except Riverfront Park and shelters, Coulson Park, and Swords Park.  You must come down to the main office and fill out the paperwork for this permit.  The cost is $100.00 non-refundable and non-transferable.  The main office is located at 390 N. 23rd Street, Billings, MT 59101.

Refund Policy for Facility Rentals

  • All refund requests must be submitted during business hours using this refund request form.
  • All refunds will be processed the next business day after receiving the refund request form.
  • Any request 15 days or less before the rental start-date will not receive a refund.
  • Cash and check refunds will be refunded in the form of a check, and credit card refunds will be refunded back on the credit card that was used to purchase the rental.
  • All refund checks will be processed through City of Billings Finance Department within 2 weeks, upon approval

All Craft Houses require a $250 refundable deposit – not available for online reservations.  In order to reserve these Craft Houses, you must come down to the main office and fill out the rental agreement. Full rental payment is due at time of reservation. We cannot hold any checks or cash.
**Please note that damage deposits are refundable if the building is left clean and there is no damage. If you pay by credit card it takes about 2-4 business days for the refund. If you pay by check or cash it will take about 7-14 business days for the finance department to mail a check to the address on the rental agreement. We cannot hold any checks or cash.**
Central Park Shelter with Kitchen Area

This shelter has recently been redesigned and now includes an indoor facility which contains a kitchen preparation area as well as two 8’ tables (seating for approximately 16 people) inside. The outside area of the shelter contains six 8’ tables (seating for approximately 48 people). It does have electricity.

  • PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR EVENT
  • PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE MOTOR VEHICLES IN THE PARK WITHOUT PREVIOUS AUTHORIZATION
  • PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE TENT STAKES OR OTHER OBJECTS INTO THE GROUND UNLESS YOU HAVE FIRST OBTAINED PERMISSION FROM THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT
  • PLEASE REMEMBER THAT FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY REASONS, DOGS (OTHER THAN SEEING EYE DOGS) ARE NOT PERMITTED IN PUBLIC PARKS WITHOUT A LEASH
  • IF YOU INTEND TO HAVE ALCOHOL AT YOUR PARK EVENT, YOU MUST PURCHASE AN ALCOHOL PERMIT IN ADVANCE AT THE CITY PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT
