Interested in becoming a lifeguard? This lifeguard certification course (2 different courses offered) is designed to ensure that you are properly trained and prepared in the event of a water emergency.
This is a blended learning course including an online portion and an instructor-led
classroom skill session that gets you certified for 2 years. Prerequisites-Swim at
300, retrieve a brick in 10 feet of water, and tread water for two minutes.
Registration will close 10 days prior to the skill session date that you signed up for. You will be contacted by our instructor with more information once registration closes with your study materials and how to get started with the online portion.
Please complete the online portion prior to the skill session. Must complete both to receive certificate.
Registration will close 10 days prior (May 1, & May 22) to each skill session.
Any participant who becomes certified through this class and is hired by the Billings Parks and Recreation Department to serve as a Lifeguard in Summer 2024, and works over 200 hours, will be eligible to be reimbursed the cost for this class.
