Youth sports coaches are available throughout the fall and winter at Parks and Rec. The success of our Youth Programs depends on 3 things. First, great coaches passing down knowledge of the game they love. Second, motivated individuals who can teach and encourage passion for the game. Lastly, Parks and Rec is looking for motivated individuals who would like to give back to the community. Youth basketball instructional leagues for 4th-5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades are all available. Along with, volleyball having 3rd-4th, and 4th-5th grade options. Parks and Rec provides a 9 week season for all sports. Including, at least 5 games against other sites within the parks league. Parks and Recreation uses the local area middle schools as home sites. This allows families the option of signing up at the most convenient school for them.
Youth sports coaches must have the ability to teach and instruct skills and game fundamentals. Coaches are responsible for providing a positive and safe environment for children. We are looking for coaches with excellent communication skills, energetic personalities and the ability to work closely and patiently with children. If you are interested in coaching a youth team with Parks and Recreation, please contact the Parks and Recreation office or apply on the City of Billings website. Paid and volunteer opportunities available.
