Learn to Fly Fish: Catching Fish with a Kid!

If you want a fantastic lifelong activity to share with a child for many years, Catching Fish with a Kid is great way to introduce a child to the world of Fly Fishing. Instruction includes everything you need to know about fly fishing!

Learn how to set up your rod and reel from line to fly, equipment needs, and knot tying. We’ll also dive into fish identification and their habitat, aquatic insects, and recommendations on flies. We’ll discuss setup and fishing with streamers, nymph’s, and dry flies as well as learn what fish feed on, keys to successful fly fishing, and “hands-on” casting practice. Plan to bring your fly rod/reel for all sessions. The 2nd Thursday class and Saturday class location will be determined by our instructor at a later date.

*Youth must be 10-16 years of age accompanied by an Adult 18+. Learn to Fly Fish: Catching Fish With a Kid! SPACE IS LIMITED to 7 pairs. Fee covers 1 Adult (18+) and one Youth (10-16). Only Adult is required to register but must note youth name, DOB, and age upon registration.

Note- This is a 5 class course with each class building on the previous class.*We recommend attending all 5 classes and having your fishing license prior to the beginning of the first class.

Adult Learn to Fly Fish

Learn to Fly Fish (16+ years old) includes everything you need to know about fly fishing! Learn how to set up your rod and reel from line to fly, equipment needs, and knot tying. We’ll also dive into fish identification and their habitat, aquatic insects, and recommendations on flies.

We’ll discuss setup and fishing with streamers, nymph’s, and dry flies as well learn what fish feed on, keys to successful fly fishing, and “hands-on” casting practice. Plan to bring your fly rod/reel for all sessions. The Saturday session will be determined during class.

It is important to try and be at all 5 classes as each week builds upon the previous class presentation and information provided.*

*We highly recommend having your fishing license prior to the beginning of the first class* If you have a rod and reel, please bring them with you.
